Upgrade to Kde 4.4 SC via PPA in Kubuntu 9.10

Few days ago was released KDE Software Compilation 4.4, “Caikaku”, the new version comes with many new features and improvements with innovative collection of applications to Free Software users. Major new technologies have been introduced, including social networking and online collaboration features. If you are under kubuntu and you want to upgrade your Kubuntu to Kde SC 4.4 you can follow the steps bellow:



1- Add repository :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports


2- Update list of repositories

sudo apt-get update

3- Now upgrade to Kde SC 4.4 using the command :

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Actually, what I see too much of, and what Microsoft actually (sorta) did with Windows 8 is think forward. And let’s be brutally honest. Windows 8 is actually NOT as bad as people is making it out, they’re just freakishly afraid of change (which Linux users are as well, it seems)
