New applications land in Parted Magic 5.8
Parted Magic 5.8 is released, this new release comes with new software and many bug fixes. The following programs have been updated: clonezilla-1.2.6-40, plpbt-5.0.11, psensor-0.4.4, linux-220.127.116.11, busybox-1.17.4, nwipe-0.03, simpleburn-1.6.0, syslinux-4.03, clamav-0.96.5, e2fsprogs-1.41.14, gparted-0.7.1. These are the new programs that were added: zerofree-1.0.1, cmospwd-5.0 ( A password recovery tool), open-iscsi-2.0.871, hfsprescue-0.1, gscite223.
About Parted Magic
Parted Magic is a small live CD/USB/PXE with its elemental purpose being to partition hard drives, it employs core programs of GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful programs (e.g. Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, and ddrescue) and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of fileystem tools are also included, as Parted Magic supports the following: ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, ntfs, reiserfs, reiser4, and xfs.
