ImageMagick 6.6.0-5 released

Imagemagick is a set of programs to manipulate various image formats (JPEG, TIFF, PhotoCD, PBM, XPM, etc…). All manipulations can be achieved through shell commands as well as through a X11 graphical interface (display). Possible effects: colormap manipulation, channel operations, thumbnail creation, image annotation, limited drawing, image distortion, etc…




The latest version is ImageMagick  6.6.0-5 is and was released today.

Installation

  • In Fedora:
rpm -ivh  http://www.imagemagick.org/download/linux/fedora/i386/ImageMagick-6.6.0-5.i386.rpm
  • Install from source :


wget  ftp://ftp.imagemagick.org/pub/ImageMagick/ImageMagick.tar.gz
 tar xvfz ImageMagick.tar.gz
./configure
make
make install

Check if the installation is successfully completed  using this  commands

/usr/local/bin/convert logo: logo.gif

Just delete the space after the slash (/) it will work.

I tried it and it works with a regular zip file, but if you password-protect the .zip file it does NOT work.
