If you are one of these people that like to change the look of their Linux desktop frequently, then this post is for you, i tried to list some nice themes that were updated the past few days. The themes are available for Gnome shell and Unity desktop.
Conky-Lua next generation is a nice conky theme from the same author of Conky Lua. This theme is available for Debian, Fedora, LinuxMint, PCLinux, Opensue and Ubuntu. From my side i tested this conky theme in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin Beta1.
Tempered glass is a nice theme for Gnome shell and Cinnamon
fresh-Wood is lighter Gnome shell theme with a real wood-looking panels, workspace-thumbnail-indicators and backgrounds. The theme is compatible with Gnome 3.2 / Gnome Shell Cinnamon 1.2.
Minty is a Cinnamon theme with some flavour of Linux Mint. It is compatible with the latest Cinnamon 3.2.
Awoken icon set is one of the most popular icons set for Gnome , success is mostly due to the elegance and great achievement and even the ability to customize them. A new version of Awoken has been released today, this new version added new icons, new icon editor, a PPA for ubuntu, Natty support and more.
Divergence IV – A New Hope ” is a theme produced by jurialmunkey which offers many customizations , there is a possibility to choose between 3 different styles of Nautilus , 3 and 4 panel styles menu styles. Also offers 5 IV Divergence Emerald themes , a theme of AWN Lucido and even a theme CoverGloobus . But let’s see how to install it on Ubuntu .

Orta theme 1.4.1 is released, this version comes to fix some bugs in some older versions of the pixmap engine, the bug causes severe visual glitches when transparency is used in menubars. If your menubars and panel indicators are messed up, go to the Fixes page of the Orta Settings Manager and check the option “Select this if your menus and panel have visual glitches”. This will also remove transparency from the Gnome Menu Bar applet, so if you use this applet with the flat panel option to make the panel transparent, you are out of luck.
