VLC 2.0 “Twoflower” has been released, this is a major release of VLC that comes with faster decoding on multi-core, GPU, and mobile hardware, ability to open more formats, notably professional, HD and 10bits codecs.

VLC 1.1.3 is released, this is the third bugfix release of the VLC 1.1.x branch. “Some more bugs were squashed and a potential security issue leading to a crash, was discovered. On top of that, this release introduces small fixes and improvements over VLC 1.1.2, for most platforms.”
