Install webmin in Ubuntu 12.04

Question: How to Install webmin in Ubuntu 12.04 ?

Answer :

To install webmin in Ubuntu 12.04, open terminal and add the following repository:

1- Edit /etc/apt/sources.list file

sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list

2- Add the following lines

deb http://download.webmin.com/download/repository sarge contrib deb http://webmin.mirror.somersettechsolutions.co.uk/repository sarge contrib

Save and exit the file

3- Now you need to import GPG key

wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc

sudo apt-key add jcameron-key.asc

4- Update the source list

sudo apt-get update

5- Now install webmin

sudo apt-get install webmin

Now to access webmin open your browser and enter: http://serverip:10000/

Strange problem, could there be a typo in the tekst?
When (after successful installation) I try to go to http://serverip.10000/
I get:

Unable to connect







          Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at http://www.serverip.com:10000.
I’ve tried with https:// as well, but same results. Any ideas?

  You need to substitute your server ip address for serverip.

  How utterly stupid of me. Of course “serverip” doesn’t refer to a hostname, but an IP-address. Shame on me. ;-)

http://:10000 and went right to my login page

  Just did another server and worked perfect again.
  My first server was Ubuntu 10.04 and my newest one is Ubuntu 12
  Both are working flawlessly

Step two should really be adding the following lines:
