Installing and Running Visual Studio Code on Ubuntu

Download Visual Studio Code

First of all download Visual Studio Code source file according to your linux system architecture i.e. 32 or 64-bit from above mentioned URL.

Once download process is complete, launch your ubuntu system terminal and go to the download location, here run following command to extract the downloaded file.

unzip VSCode-linux-x64.zip

For 32-bit installer packages, run following command:

unzip VSCode-linux-ia32.zip

Now move to the extracted directory by running the following command:

cd  VSCode-linux-x64

For 32 bit systems:

cd VSCode-linux-ia32

Here run following command to start/run this visual studio code editor.
