Thunderbid 8.0 has been released! PPA Uuntu and LinuxMint

Few days ago, Thunderbid 8.0 was released, the new release comes with many new features and improvements. thunderbird3

 What`s New?

 

  • Thunderbird is based on the new Mozilla Gecko 8 engine
  • Add-ons installed by third party programs are now disabled by default
  • New Search and Find Shortcuts
  • Improved accessibility of the attachment list
  • Folder switching pane widget removed
  • Numerous platform fixes to stability
  • Fixed several security issues

Installation in Thunderbird 8.0 in Ubuntu and LinuxMint

 

Mozilla Thunderbird 8 also available on PPA, you can install / Upgradeto this latest release via the following PPA  :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-stable
 sudo apt-get update
 sudo apt-get install thunderbird

For other Linux distribution, you can download Thunderbird 8.0 from this Link

Actually, what I see too much of, and what Microsoft actually (sorta) did with Windows 8 is think forward. And let’s be brutally honest. Windows 8 is actually NOT as bad as people is making it out, they’re just freakishly afraid of change (which Linux users are as well, it seems)
