Openoffice.org 3.3.0 Final is released!

Oracle Openoffice.org 3.3 final is released, this release comes one day after the release of LibreOffice3.3. Openoffice3.3 features, New Custom Properties openoffice_logoHandling, embedding of Standard PDF Fonts, New Narrow Font Family, increased Document Protection in Writer and Calc,  Automatic Decimals Digits for “General” format in Calc, now openoffice support 1 Million Rows in a Spreadsheet, new Options for CSV (Comma Separated Value) Import in Calc, Insert Drawing Objects in Charts.

- Improved Slide Layout Handling in Impress

- Manual Setting for Primary Key Support for Databases
- New Math Command ‘nospace’
- Common Search Toolbar
- New Easier to Use Print Interface

- Redesign of Thesaurus
- Resetting Text to the Default Language in Writer

- Text Rendering of Form Controls in Writer
- Changed Defaults for Charts
- Colored Sheet Tabs in Calc
- Adapt to Marked Selection for Filter Area in Calc
- Sort Dialog for DataPilot in Calc

Installation: 

You can download OpenOffice3.3 from the download Link:

- For Ubuntu and LinuxMint:

You can install OpenOffice 3.3 from PPA (Still not updated yet), open terminal and enter the following commands:

1- First add repositories :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openoffice-pkgs/ppa

2- Update repositories

sudo apt-get update

3- Install OpenOffice.org :

sudo apt-get install openoffice.org

- If you are using Gnome Type the command:


sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-gnome

- If you are using Kde type the following:


sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-kde

    I followed these instructions exactly. But the new version installed on my system is 3.2.1 rather than 3.0.0. Why is that?

    I am new to Linux and I don’t fully understand all of the command lines used in your installation instructions above. But I entered the commands in steps 1, 2, & 3 and then sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-gnome.

    OK I checked into it further. Their PPA packages have not yet been updated to include 3.3. So when I ran the update cammand I got 3.2 instead. That’s fine for now. Thanks

    I want to install openoffice 3.3 from oracle. I try this but it installs libreoffice only. Please help.

      download only the packages . extract and install the packages you need with sudo dpkg -i (OOo*****.deb

    I’m using Ubuntu 11.10, followed your instruction and didn’t work. Can’t find OO after installation. :-(

Andrew look into your httpd.conf file at line no 350. There might be a syntax error.

hello I have this error

[root@cloud html]# /etc/init.d/httpd restart

then this appears

Starting httpd: httpd: Syntax error on line 350 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf: without matching section.

plz tell how to fix this.
