Question: How to install skype 4.x in Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal?

Answer:

Open terminal and type the following partner repository  then update and install Skype 4.x :

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install skype

Just delete the space after the slash (/) it will work.

I tried it and it works with a regular zip file, but if you password-protect the .zip file it does NOT work.
