Question

when you  get  some  issues  that  your Ubuntu cannot  start normally   but autologin still activated ,  (Gnome  Freezing) ?

Solution:

1.Press, ctrl+alt+F1 to   get the  terminal
2. Log in
3. sudo vi /etc/gdm/custom.conf
4. changed AutomaticLoginEnable to false (you’ll have to press ‘i’ for insert)
5. save (Esc -> :wq)
6. sudo reboot

You’ll see login screen now!

     Very nice, it works! :D

    On my install it was actually /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
    Reverted to login screen because of permission issues (no mounts, card sound not recognized..) but the issues are still there…
    I would be thankful for the solution, or a pointer to the solution…
    Please note, if there is any relation, that the system’s installed Python version is 2.7.3…

Actually, what I see too much of, and what Microsoft actually (sorta) did with Windows 8 is think forward. And let’s be brutally honest. Windows 8 is actually NOT as bad as people is making it out, they’re just freakishly afraid of change (which Linux users are as well, it seems)
