Next Generation- Another nice conky theme from Conky-Lua author

Written by M. Zinoune on . Posted in eyecandy, Fedora, Linux Mint, Linux tutorials, Suse, Ubuntu

Conky-Lua next generation is a nice conky theme from the same author of Conky Lua. This theme is available for Debian, Fedora, LinuxMint, PCLinux, Opensue and Ubuntu. From my side i tested this conky theme in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin Beta1.

Installation and configuration:

1- Download the package and extract it to your desktop

2- Unzip and install neuropolitical font

3- Now for installation and configuration of the conky-lua next generation theme, follow the steps in our previous post for conky-lua : Configure conky-Lua in Ubuntu (11.10 & 12.04), Fedora, debian and LinuxMint  (You don`t need to do steps 3, 4 and 5)

Update:  If you are using wireless, and you want to have Net working on conky, edit .conkycr and change eth0 with wlan0 (Thanks to Alius)

Can someone point out how to fix network rings – they are not doing anything, always gray no matter speed is 0B or 2MB…

    • zinovsky

I posted a solution for that on this post, Update:  If you are using wireless, and you want to have Net working on conky, edit .conkycrand change eth0 with wlan0

I’m not about this, i’m about actual ring drawing – numbers are changing but rings not.

If your using wireless you need to edit .conkyrc and edit clock_rings.lua change eth0 to wlan0 in both files, now it will show correctly in the rings as well.

I tried it and it works with a regular zip file, but if you password-protect the .zip file it does NOT work.
