VLC issue in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat Solved

if  you  are running  medial  player  and  your  get  these  errors ,

“No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format “XVID”. VLC Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.”

And

“No suitable decoder module: VLC does not support the audio or video format “H264”. VLC Unfortunately there is no way for you to fix this.”

 

 

solve  this  with  installing :   libavutil50 libavutil49

 

 

sudo apt-get install libavutil50 libavutil49

this installation will  remove  libavutil-extra-49, libavutil-extra-50  and  will make  VLC  running  fine

Just delete the space after the slash (/) it will work.

I tried it and it works with a regular zip file, but if you password-protect the .zip file it does NOT work.
