Urban Terror: Hollywood tactical shooter

Written by M. Zinoune on . Posted in Gaming On Linux

Urban Terror™ is a free multiplayer first person shooter developed by FrozenSand, that (thanks to the ioquake3-code) does not require Quake III Arena anymore. It is available for Windows, Linux and Macintosh. The current version is 4.1

Urban Terror is a multiplayer 3D shooter based on Quake 3 Arena engine. The title features various game modes, like capture the flag, place the bomb, and one against all others, however, only multiplayer. E can play against the computer to train, but there is a story to complete. Its strengths are the Urban Terror arenas, huge and well designed. The weapons are extremely realistic and take over existing models in reality.

Game modes:

* Team Survivor: The team that eliminates all the opposing team
* Capture the Flag: The team that scores the most points by bringing the opposing flag in their base
* Bomb-mode: a team must place a bomb and defend the other team has to defuse groped
* Team Deathmatch: the team that wins the most points when time runs out (1 kill = 1 point)
* Free for All: all against all
* Capture and Hold: each team must capture and maintain control over different areas of the map
* Follow the Leader: do not try to kill the leader of a team

I tried it and it works with a regular zip file, but if you password-protect the .zip file it does NOT work.
