CentOS Team just anounced the avaibility of CentOS 5.3 ,  Major changes in CentOS 5.3 compared to CentOS 4 include: this

 new version  updated software versions: Apache-2.2, php-5.1.6, kernel-2.6.18, Gnome-2.16, KDE-3.5, OpenOffice.org-2.3, Evolution-2.12, Firefox-3.0, Thunderbird-2.0, MySQL-5.0, PostgreSQL-8.

Better desktop support with compiz and AIGLX.

Virtualization provided by the Xen hypervisor with Virtual Machine Manager and libvirt.

Sabayon to simplify the construction of user profiles.

Now we will show you how to upgrade from CentOS 5.2 to 5.3.

before  you  begin to  upgrade ,  reboot  your  machine


after  reboot 

you  may   to  upgarde  your  glibc first  if  not  you  will get  later  some dependencies   issues .

#yum   update   glibc -y 


#yum  update  -y
 [root@unixmen ~]# cat  /etc/redhat-release 
CentOS release 5.3 (Final)
[root@unixmen ~]#
