Ubuntu Gaming made easy with PlayDeb

Playdeb is a gaming repository for Ubuntu – aimed to provide titles already available on getdeb.net in an easier to install and update format.

This article show you how to install Game from playdeb.net on ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot.

Now let`s start

1- Install the playdeb package.

Download playdeb and install it

2- Or you can configure the repository manually:

Go to System-Administration-Software Sources, Third-Party Software tab, Add:

deb http://archive.getdeb.net/ubuntu oneiric-getdeb games

3- Now Add the repository GPG key:

open a terminal window and type:


wget -O- http://archive.getdeb.net/getdeb-archive.key | sudo apt-key add -

4- Installing games :

Now go to this link : http://www.playdeb.net/updates/#how_to_install and choose the game you want to install and then just click on : install this now and the game will be installed, see the example bellow:

For example I want to install the game Glest

Then click install and heyy the game is installed .
