ubuntulogo1Th new installer for Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat is live now , Present in the latest daily build of the upcoming Maverick Meerkat (Ubuntu 10.10) operating system. The installer is completely revamped and accessible by Linux beginners.

UMAV1Via this revamped Ubuntu installer it’s possible to install proprietary bits directly like support for MP3 audio files and proprietary graphics drivers. Using this new installer for Ubuntu 10.10 also supports

specifying network connection information for easy wireless setup and Ubuntu package updates can also be installed automatically.

For Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick Meerkat), the Ubiquity developers recommend having an active Internet connection while installing Ubuntu, because you will be able to download software updates, install support for non-English languages, or install proprietary drivers and applications.

I tried to test the installer, it seems that is not complete yet. Here are my screenshots:
