Pinta 0.4 is released! PPA for ubuntu

Pinta 0.4 is released, the new version comes with few new smaller features as well as fixes and enhancements for bugs and rough edges. Find in this link the complete liste of features of this release.

If you diden`t hear about pinta:

 

“Pinta is a drawing/editing program modeled after Paint.NET. It’s goal is to provide a simplified alternative to GIMP for casual users. It is currently early in development.”

Installation :

- For Ubuntu :

You can install Pinta via repository in Ubuntu Karmic and Lucid (Work also for LinuxMint) :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:moonlight-team/pinta
sudo apt-get update
sudo aptitude install pinta

Or  by downloading the .deb package for Lucid and Karmic (Work also in LinuxMint 8 and 9)

- For opensuse :

You can download the rpm package from this Link.

- For other linux distribution :

Download the tar package

i try the method, and i unzip the image contain zip secret, i dont find the file that i was hide, where it go? and how to open it? :s

Yes, it is possible using Steganography, we will post another quick howto do that in the next few days

Yes there are many open source tools available to meet your requirements. They are easy to manage and has a decent web gui to configure. We will publish all of them one by one shortly. Stay tuned with us.
