PeaZip 5.3.1 Has Been Released

The archive manager PeaZip 5.3.1 has been released with various fixes, updated translations, Windows context menu localization scripts and improved handling of double file extension when creating archives in your computer.

Release 5 brings many new features, lots of fixes, improvements, translations available in 30 languages and support for 178 file extensions.

These release series make file and archive browsing easier. UAC integration is improved and many new features are introduced.

New features include:

  • Schedule tab in Archive/Convert and Extract interfaces (integrated with Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 Task Scheduler).
  • new secure deletion of free space, and zero deletion mode (overwriting files/free space with all 0).
  • new standalone GUI for basic archive extraction (Tools > PeaExtractor) and for basic file management tasks (Tools > PeaUtils)

For example, the Update 5.3.0 has really improved the compression speed and quality. This update introduces an improved navigation bar, improved inclusion/exclusion filters, the ability to create self extracting archive, updated “Seven” theme and various minor fixes.

Peazip is a very nice cross-platform archiver with the ability to create 7Z, ARC, BZ2, GZ, *PAQ, PEA, QUAD/BALZ, TAR, UPX, WIM, XZ, ZIP files and extract over 150 archive types.
