OpenOffice has released version 3.1.1
Announced today by openoffice the release of the new version 3.1.1 of openoffice , the new version fixes a number of bugs in the previous version and a potential security vulnerability, but does not add any new functionality.
New functionality is saved for the forthcoming version 3.2, scheduled for release in late November. For security reasons alone the project team recommends that all OpenOffice users switch to version 3.1.1.

For openoffice 3.1.1 Linux version is available for download .deb package , rpm package.

Actually, what I see too much of, and what Microsoft actually (sorta) did with Windows 8 is think forward. And let’s be brutally honest. Windows 8 is actually NOT as bad as people is making it out, they’re just freakishly afraid of change (which Linux users are as well, it seems)
