To install Kompozer on Ubuntu Interpid and 9.04 Jaunty :
sudo apt-get install kompozer
For fedora, you have to add first rpm fusion repository :
yum install kompozer
For Mandriva :
urpmi kompozer

I had the same problem with Kompozer closing. After searching for answers online I finally found where someone said to upgrade to the newer version of Kompozer, even though it's still in alpha release it seems to run much more stable in Ubuntu. Hope this helps you!

I kinda have a bug though. When I click on a menu and then submenu, the program closes!!! Weird huh? I run Kompozer on Ubuntu Jaunty. The same bug appears on a friend's laptop, he's using XP. I prefer Bluefish though, like the coding part more...
