Did you ever want to fly a plane yourself, but lacked the money or ability to do so? Are you a real pilot looking to improve your skills without having to take off? Do you want to try some dangerous maneuvers without risking your life? Or do you just want to have fun with a more serious game without any violence? If any of these questions apply to you, PC flight simulators are just for you.
The FlightGear flight simulator is an open-source software, multi-platform, it is primarily aimed at civilian flight simulation. It should be appropriate for simulating general aviation as well as civilian aircraft.

This game SUCKS from a gamer/novice point of view. So far as I can tell, you have to be a programmer to setup ANYTHING other than the default plane on the default airstrip. I would like to be able to pick a plane and an airstrip from a menu, not hack the damned source to get what I want.
