Install Skype in Ubuntu and LinuxMint 32 and 64bit

Question: How to Install  Skype in ubuntu and LinuxMint 32 and 64bit (exp- 10.10  Lucid and  11.04 Natty)? (For newbies)

Answer :

methode 1 GUI methode

Go to the  Download page of  Skype and  click  in deb en will simply install

II – Method 2

Go to skype download page and choose the package for your OS

Now open terminal and cd the folder where you downloaded the package:

cd /home/username/Downloads/

– Install the package

For  32 bit :

 sudo  dpkg  -i  skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.81-1_i386.deb

For 64bit:

sudo   dpkg -i skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.81-1_amd64.deb

 

III – Method 3:

Since Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx), Skype is part of the Canonical partner repository. To install Skype add the Canonical Partner Repository and install Skype via the Software-Center or via the Terminal.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install skype

Now run skype from  Menu  Applications–> internet–> Skye
