IceCat 3.6 is released |Installation instructions for Ubuntu via PPA repository
IceCat3.6 is released and is available for download. IceCat is the GNU version of the Firefox browser, it is fully free software, as it removes the non-free Firefox artwork. The plugin finder service also offers only free plugins. IceCat includes additional security features, such as the option to block third party zero-length image files resulting in third part
cookie, also known as web bugs. GNU IceCat also provides warnings for URL redirection, when other sites rewrite the host name in links redirecting the user to another site, mainly to “spy” on clicks. When this behavior is detected, IceCat shows a message alerting the user.
Addons for Icecat you can find them on this link , For plugins are available on this link
Installation of IceCat
I- On Ubuntu
1- Add repositories
In Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala :

For other versions of ubuntu :
Open sources.list using the command :

and add the ppa bellow at the end of the file. You have to change YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE with your current version of ubuntu : hardy , intrepid, jaunty, karmic or lucid.
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnuzilla-team/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/gnuzilla-team/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
2- Update and install
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install icecat

Actually, what I see too much of, and what Microsoft actually (sorta) did with Windows 8 is think forward. And let’s be brutally honest. Windows 8 is actually NOT as bad as people is making it out, they’re just freakishly afraid of change (which Linux users are as well, it seems)
