How to upgrade to openoffice3.1 in LinuxMint -felicia-

OpenOffice.org 3 is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers.


Few days ago,latest version openoffice 3.1 was released, the new version comes with many new features( see all new features in details. )

In this tutorial we will show you how to upgrade in LinuxMint 6-felicia- from your earlier openoffice version to the new version 3.1 , the tutorial also available as video tutorial.

Go to Menu –>Administration__>Synaptic package manager

2-  Serach for openoffice package

openoffice_mint

 choose latest versionof openoffice  3.1 and Mark it for installation, then click apply

 Click ok

The package is downloadin

 After the package is downloaded and installed , click ok to exit and then open your openofficce , for exemple word processor, then go to

Help –> about openoffice. you will see that your openoffice has been upgraded to 3.1

Do you think that it works on a Macbook Air 1,1?… ohh and, it must be installed in a different partition than Mac OS X, right?… can´t have i installed only Ubuntu on my hard drive?
