From Karmic to Lucid

If you want to test Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid and you already have an ubuntu on an old machine that you don`t use or on a virtual machine, you can just upgrade instead of installing Lucid, the upgrade is in 2 steps :

Step 1: Open a terminal your Ubuntu karmic and type this commad:

sudo sed -i 's/karmic/lucid/g' /etc/apt/sources.list && sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude dist-upgrade

Step 2: Upgrade Karmic Koala to Lucid Lynx

1: sudo aptitude install update-manager-core

2: sudo do-release-upgrade -d

The installation will take a while . pleas wait . when the installation done , reboot your machine
