Answer

How to  change ip  from Dynamic  to static  in  Fedora 13 14  and 15 ?

Answer

lets  check  my  actual configuration

cd  /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
[root@cccam ~]# cat ifcfg-eth0
# Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
HWADDR=00:14:C2:07:46:75
ONBOOT=yes

make a  copy of  resolve.conf  in /etc to  save  DNS  ips

to  convert  to  static . edit  ifcfg-eth0

# Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none
HWADDR=00:14:C2:07:46:75
ONBOOT=yes
IPADDR=192.168.1.222
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
BROADCAST=192.168.1.255
TYPE=Ethernet
IPV6INIT=no
USERCTL=no
DNS2=213.46.228.196
DNS1=62.179.104.196
NM_CONTROLLED=yes
PREFIX=24
DEFROUTE=yes
IPV4_FAILURE_FATAL=yes
NAME="System eth0"
UUID=5fb06bd0-0bb0-7ffb-45f1-d6edd65f3e03

and  edit  the  /etc/resolve.conf  to your  DNS  ip’s

cat  /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by NetworkManager
nameserver 62.179.104.196
nameserver 213.46.228.196

Now  restart   your  network service

# /etc/init.d/network restart

ping  some  hosts  to check  :). that was  tested on my  machine  F13 and  its  working  fine

Enjoy

Do you think that it works on a Macbook Air 1,1?… ohh and, it must be installed in a different partition than Mac OS X, right?… can´t have i installed only Ubuntu on my hard drive?

I wonder if there is a way to create your own themes.
