PC BSD 8.0 release made BSD much easier for desktop use | Installation and screenshots
Last Monday PC-BSD was released. PC BSD is based on FreeBSD and uses KDE as its default desktop environment. The 8.0 release of PC-BSD is based onFreeBSD Sup
port for 3D acceleration with NVIDIA drivers on amd64 and improvements in the USB subsystem. PC-BSD is designed to make BSD mu ch easier for desktop use. The PC-BSD team has also developed a friendly package manager system and tools to let users manage packages using a simple to use GUI tool. For a full list of changes, please refer to the changelog.
In this article we will show you in screenshots all the installation steps and we will make a small tour inside the new version of PC BSD.
First download PC BSD then follow the installation instructions as described on the screenshots bellow (with some descriptions details for niewbies).
Run the dvd

Select your Language
Select Keybroad model

Select: fresh install, PC-BSD and DVD/USB
Now select partition where you want to install PCBSD, dont forget to select at the bottom to install the bootloader :
Choose username and password

Choose Time
Select software you want to install in you PC BSD



Installing

End of installation click finish

Now select your video driver


is done!
