AWN – Just another launchbar for linux desktop

Written by Mel Kham on . Posted in Linux tutorials

Avant Windows Manager is a dock-like navigation bar for the linux desktop that positions itself at the bottom of the screen. It can be used to keep track of open windows and behaves like a normal window list. AWN is some eye candy.

Install in ubuntu9.10 Karmic koala

Open terminal and add the repository using  this command : (Newbis just copy/past the command on the terminal)

Ubuntu9.10 Karmic koala :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:awn-testing/ppa

To install type the command :

sudo apt-get install avant-window-navigator

You can install extra appled for AWN

sudo apt-get install awn-applets-c-core-trunk awn-applets-c-core-trunk awn-applets-c-extras-trunk awn-applets-python-core-trunk awn-applets-python-extras-trunk
